A constellation of colorful spheres orbits through Karen Dupré’s “Marvelous Marbles.” Originally from California, Dupré is a self-taught artist who adeptly depicts light’s interplay with both man-made objects and nature. Initially creating images of horses and wildlife, the versatile artist also paints landscapes, figures and still-lifes. Dupré admires 19th-century painters who rejected artistic standards, and challenges herself to go beyond traditional boundaries.
